Exit Through The Gift Shop - (2010) -Director: Banksy

Suggested By Ben Brown

Absorbed.....30 minutes in and I'm glued to the tiny screen. My fascination with the topic of this movie/documentary continued till the end. A very random insight into the world of street art via an odd french man who finds it difficult to complete his sentences. As a fan of most art, it was quite interesting to see how professionally some of these street artists work, as well as damn brave. Obviously, as I currently live in Singapore, (you will be fined and quite possibly caned for doing what they do) quality street art is difficult to find. Back to the point, yes, a fascinating topic with an entertaining french soundtrack to keep it lighthearted.

An excellent point was made by Banksy at the end when he contemplates the success of MBW,...was he a genius, was he lucky, or is art just a bit of a joke? Well, as you view it and MBW's progress and the way in which his creations are made;with much support from others I must emphasize, you may lean towards the joke conclusion. A chuckle moment that highlights the question ability of MBW's creative talents, is when some bloke comments on how MBW is portraying some interesting notions around celebrities. Huh?? I guess art really is subjective. So what are we waiting for, lets make our millions with finger-painting!
One last quandary, where the heck did the sideburns man get his capital from to travel round the world?

Definitely worth watching!
