Irritated yet amused.... 30 minutes and the use of youtube as my viewing tool has taken the shine away from the film. None the less I will give it a fair review. Regardless of the fact that Kirsten Dunst is in the movie (you may detect a theme in my opinion of her), it does hold an entertaining quality not unlike St Trinians. .....I may have to come back to this one.... I'm not sure what to say about it except that Lynn Redgrave (Miss McVane - headmistress) certainly puts on the best performance in the show. I suppose if anything deep can be found in this, it would be that it highlights the truth in the inequalities of the sexes during that era and that women have had a tendency in life to beautify themselves in vanity and in the desperate attempt to please men. However, one could always put this down the good old evolutionary theories of mating rivalry and attracting the fittest. Or it is just a bit of a chick flick with some good giggles thrown in there.
